The UNWE took part in the Conference on Brand Bulgaria - the Wonders of UNESCO. In the Forum took part Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice Rector for Institutional and Economic Cooperation and Student Policy. The event was organized by the Cultural Heritage Society - the Bulgarian representative of the largest European organization for the preservation of cultural heritage on the Old Continent - Europe Nostra, in cooperation with Standard media and the national campaign The Wonders of Bulgaria.
"In order to promote The Wonders of Bulgaria, it is necessary to have trained and qualified specialists. In this respect, the UNWE has one of the best Departments training professionals in the field of tourism", outlined Prof. Tsvetana Stoyanova in her expose. "We constantly renew the range of our Master's and Bachelor's degree programmes in this field. This year we have started a programme for business and health tourism. Next year, we hope to launch Master's degree programme in Cultural Tourism. For the tourism in Bulgaria to be successful, it is needed not only natural resources and facilities but also well-trained professionals who will help to improve the country's good image among the visitors."
The Conference was also attended by the Vice-President Iliana Yotova, the Deputy Speaker of the 50th Bulgarian National Assembly Andrey Chorbanov, the Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov, the Deputy Minister of Tourism Pavlin Petrov, mayors, historians, archaeologists, representatives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and universities, ambassadors, NGOs and the media.
