The National Representation of Student Councils honoured the most successful students of Bulgaria at the 18th edition of the National Student of the Year Award 2024. The ceremony took place at Georgy S. Rakovsky Military Academy. It was held under the patronage of the Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.

The distinction for Economic Sciences was awarded to Jacques Semizov, Master's degree student of speciality Auditing at the UNWE.

The winner in the Sport category was the Olympic champion in weightlifting Carlos Nassar, graduate of Vasil Levsky National Sports Academy. The second place was for the ice swimming champion Tsanko Tsankov, who studies Real Estate Property Business at our university.
During the ceremony the Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov pointed out that "the education is an investment and it lasts a lifetime. In this endless flow of information we have to build skills, to use these skills, because life is a continuous competition. When a student of the year is awarded for an achievement, it is a great honour and pride and privilege for us to stand in front of this audience and look at the future of Bulgaria. The future of Bulgarian science, of Bulgarian education, of Bulgarian industry and economy, of Bulgarian finance in a global world holds many challenges, but I am confident that you, with the skills you have acquired, with the investment you have made to educate yourself, are prepared".
