UNWE is Part of the Consortium on a New International Project

The opening workshop of the project The House of Engagement and More /HOME/, which is funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme /2024-1-ES01-KA220-HED-000255511/ and has a total value of €400 000, took place at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid /UAM/ in the period of 10-12 February 2025.

The project unites universities and NGOs from 6 countries, with the UNWE and Time Heroes Foundation as the Bulgarian participants. The consortium also includes Work for Social and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid /Spain/, Universidade do Porto /Portugal/, Universita della Calabria /Italy/, Pro Bono Lab /France/, Önkéntes Központ Alapítvány /Hungary/.

The objective of the project is to build a network of so-called Houses of Engagement in the European universities to enhance students' competences through social innovation, to promote the intercultural exchange and build a sustainable ecosystem for social engagement. The project tasks include conducting surveys among students, lecturers and employees; building real and virtual Houses of Social Engagement, and creating a manual and online training course for their operation.

The Head of the Public Administration Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Denitsa Gorchilova and Chief Assist. Dr. Violeta Toncheva-Zlatkova from the same Department are the UNWE representatives involved in the project.
