Agreement for Cooperation between The UNWE and National Trade and Banking High School

A Framework Agreement for Cooperation between the UNWE and National Trade and Banking High School was signed by the Rector Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev and Emilia Ivanova, Director of the High School.

The Agreement envisages an early professional orientation and preparation of pupils from the High School for prospective students at the UNWE, joint elaboration and participation in national and international projects, organization of scientific and educational forums, formation of mixed scientific research collectives.

In the Agreement is also written that there will be realized initiatives for professional orientation and preparation of prospective students, participation of university lecturers as reviewers or consultants in preparation of textbooks and school appliances.


Jurists from The UNWE Participated in The Open Doors Day of The Administrative Court Sofia City

Students and lecturers from the Legal Faculty of UNWE responded to the invitation of the Administrative Court Sofia City and participated in the Open Doors Day. In the event took part also a lot of representatives of the business, citizens and journalists.  

The judge Radostin Radkov, Chairman of the Administrative Court Sofia City assured the attendants that the doors of the Administrative Court had always been opened but the attendants on that day would be able to examine closely the work of judges and court officers and to ask specific questions.

Judges told about the history and activity of the busiest administrative court in the country and the Heads of Services at the Administrative Court Sofia City presented to the attendants the progress of cases, functions of the administration, the rights and obligations of citizens, some separate proceedings. The guests visited two court hearings, reviewed the registry desk, secretariats, the archive and attorney`s room. All the attendants were given printed materials about the project on the Operative Programme Administrative Capacity implemented by the Administrative Court Sofia City.

IBM Company Gives An Opportunity of Young People to Occupy Managerial Positions

“All the world problems are easily solvable if people have a willing to think over them”. That thought by Thomas Watson, former President of IBM is a credo even in the present days for employees at the world famous company, outlined the representatives of IBM Bulgaria who presented the activity of the giant company to students from the university.  The topic of discussion was: Financial Career. Why Don`t You Start It Now? and it was organized by the assistance of the Inter – University Center for Career Development.

Today IBM works out super computers and software but the main direction of the company business is the provision of IT services as the corporation is the largest IT company in the world. A short multimedia presentation – a story of technological leadership and perfect service – introduced to young people at the Large Conference Hall some curious facts about the company since its establishment (in 1911) to the present days. IBM can be called innovative not only for its product line but also for some of its managerial decisions in the middle of the last century, pointed out Ivan Dinchev, Manager at the IBM Bulgaria. We turn the high information technologies including computer systems, software, networking systems, storage arrays and microelectronics into competitive advantages for our clients.

“If you like solving problems and have a command of foreign languages then IBM is the company for you”, was the specific motto of the meeting – discussion. “The good thing about our company is that it provides many opportunities for young people – from workers to team leaders and managerial positions”, added Ivan Dinchev. You may be trained directly from the managers thanks to the job shadowing training. We have an internship programme and have planned an Open Doors Day in September and October. International Students Day at The University

For a second consecutive year on the International Student Day gathered together young people from various countries who have chosen Bulgaria and our university for a place to obtain their education. Organizers of the event were the International Relations Research Students Association (IRRSA), the Students Council and the University Center for Students and Lecturers Mobility. At the Scientific Councils Hall attended also Prof. Dr. Ognyan Simeonov, First Vice–Rector and Vice–Rector on education in the Educational Qualification Degree of Bachelor.

Congratulations for you have chosen the UNWE – a leader in the higher education in Bulgaria and one of the best universities in Europe, greeted the international students Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vera Pirimova, Director of the University Center for Students and Lecturers Mobility. She outlined that the academic body of UNWE consists of lecturers who occupy high positions also in the practice. Their activeness in lecturing and scientific field increases and they are part of international programmes such as Erasmus. “I believe your education here will be successful. But don`t forget also that our country has a rich nature, history and culture. Acquaint with them to love them as well as the UNWE, appealed the students Assoc. Prof. Pirimova.

A presentation by a lot of photos and impressions was made by Eva Hercigova from Czech and Valerian Lamour from France. They shared their expectations, their first steps at the university, meetings with lecturers and students, visits to the Vitosha and Rila mountains, in Nesebar and the Stob Pyramids… Radost Pesheva from Rome compared in her presentation the education at the Sapienca University of Rome and UNWE as she outlined the positive features of Bulgarian higher education and among them were the opportunities for sport.

Nora Tineva, President of ESN UNWE spoke about the Erasmus Programme. Anita Tsaneva, Head of the Foreign Students and European Appendices to Diplomas Sector presented the new university sub-website for foreign students containing detailed information in the Bulgarian and English language.

Lecture and Discussion on The Political Crisis in Bulgaria

A public lecture on the Parties and the Crisis of Political Representation was read at the Large Conference Hall by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Simeon Asenov, lecturer and Scientific Secretary of the Political Science Department. The academic discussion on the political crisis in Bulgaria was a continuation of the current topic and in it took part lecturers and students.

Assoc. Prof. Simeon Asenov structured his presentation on two leading topics: discussion on the crisis of political parties and the issue of parties and political representations in Bulgaria. He examined in historical plan the contradictory assessments for the parties during the last 60 years, examined some fundamental issues of discussion on the crisis, commented the future of representative democracy and the models and representation which they generated, the parties function over the times, reasons for organizational and functional reforms. The lecture analyzed the situation in the modern public environment and organizational forms of parties in the end of XX and beginning of XXI century. Assoc. Prof. Asenov featured also the challenges and possible outcomes of crisis of political parties in three possible scenarios.

In the second part of his exposition the lecturer reviewed the Bulgarian transition and development of parties in our country during the last two decades and pointed out some directions and solutions to be overcome the crisis of parties such as formation of a new type of horizontal structures, change of the attitude towards the civil participation, etc.

The prestigious academic publisher Cambridge Scholars Publishing issued a Collection of research results entitledParliamentary Discourses Across Cultures. Init Daniela Pastarmadzhieva, Doctoral student, regular form of education at the Political Science Department participated by her publication on theParty Subcultures in the Bulgarian Parliament after 1989.

The Swiss Model and Power of Democracy in The New Book by Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Veselin Tsachevski

The new book by Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Veselin Tsachevski entitled "Swiss Model. The Power of Democracy" was presented to students and lecturers at the university. The event was organized by the Students Association EGO POLITICO and the International Relations Research Students Association (IRRSA).

Prof. Tsachevski who is the university alumnus presented to audience his research of the modern Swiss political system based on a representative and direct democracy. The Bulgarian diplomatist made a short review of historic evolution and modern characteristics of the “Swiss model” showing how a European country could lead a successful policy and be economically stable taking into consideration the decisions of people. The author outlined that the book was not only a product of scientific interest but also a desire to be appraised closely what could we use from the exclusively rich Swiss experience.

The development of the country which has approved as a symbol of democracy is based on the same principled as it is in the other democratic states – political pluralism, law supremacy, observance of the fundamental human rights and freedoms, separation of powers and developed civil society. Its specific character is due to the important role of referendums and other forms of direct democracy in the state government as well as to the neutral status announced nearly five centuries ago. The referendums and the neutrality are essential characteristics of what can be qualified as “Swiss model” of state and political system, pointed out Prof. Tsachevski.

Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Veselin Tsachevski is an author of lots of researches related to the development of foreign policy of Bulgaria, international relations and economic cooperation of Balkans, European integration, etc. He has participated in scientific projects in many countries – Japan, Finland, Germany, Russia, Belgium, Hungary and Switzerland. He has worked as an adviser at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and he has been Bulgarian ambassador in Finland and Estonia.

Our Lecturer – Chairwoman of The National Olympiad on Spanish Language Again

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Koh – Kozhuharova, Head of the Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics Department at the UNWE and long standing Chairwoman of the Committee on the Implementation of the National Olympiad on Spanish Language opened the Olympiad held at the Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov High School by foreign languages teaching in Haskovo.

The event was carried out at the renovated building of the theatre of Haskovo. At its opening Assoc. Prof. Kozhuharova outlined that after a precise selection at municipal and regional level the best young Spanish learning pupils had reached to the national level. She reminded they had a serious stimulus to be among the best pupils. Firstly, the National Olympiad was a traditional measure of the quality of teaching in the Spanish language at the numerous schools in Bulgaria where the language of Cervantes was studied. Secondly, according to the regulations five winners from the 12th grade should be prized and among the participants from the 8th to 11th grade the three pupils who had the best results would be granted scholarships.

Assoc. Prof. Kozhuharova wished to participants the hurricane wind which met them in the town to blow up not to die away the Olympic flame. On behalf of the Regional Center for Distance Learning of UNWE in Haskovo she greeted the competitors and guests from the town managing body and invited them to pay a visit. The event continued solemnly at the crowded hall of the theatre of Haskovo by a concert and theatre performance (on the motives in the novel Don Quixote by Cervantes). In the roles of the famous hidalgo from La Mancha and his armour-bearer Sancho Panza had performed pupils from the Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov High School.

UNWE – Full Member of the UNCTAD Virtual Institute

Your university is already a full member of the Virtual Institute of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, was pointed out in a letter from Valeri Yotov, Director of the United Nations Cooperation for Development Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev.

The Virtual Institute whose members are 73 universities and 11 research centers from 43 countries (till March, 2013) is a programme for building of capacity and its main objective is to assist universities and research centers in the field of international economic, legal and development issues.

The Virtual Institute counterpart at the UNWE is the International Economics and Politics Faculty whose programmes cover the international economics and business as well as international relations and political sciences.

In the conversation with the ambassador Ivan Piperkov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United Nations Office and the other organizations in Geneva, Mrs. Vlasta Matsku, Head of the Virtual Institute had pointed out that a specific field of cooperation with the UNWE could be the exchange of experience in the research activity on the issues of the export competitiveness, international trade, investment and sustainable development. Her expectations from the participation of our university in the Virtual Institute network were related to the opportunity for enhancement of the expert practice in the lecturing and research of actual areas in the UNCTAD activity.

During the conversation had been outlined that the membership itself was a high appraisal for the innovative approach of UNWE in its tendency to hold high educational standards.

The membership of our university was the initiative of Chief Assist. Dr Paskal Zhelev from the International Relations and Business Department, graduate from an online course on legal instruments of international economic relations and regional integration organized by the Virtual Institute and the University of Barcelona as well as participant in the UNCTAD regional course on key international economic issues carried out in Belgrade (Beograd) in July 2012. Dr. Zhelev will lead the cooperation of the UNWE with the Virtual Institute along with his colleague Chief Assist. Dr. Vasil Petkov, lecturer at the Department.

UNWE will share its experience in lecturing and research activity on export competitiveness, international trade, investments and development issues. It is open to the activity of the Virtual Institute in compliance with the interests of its members and particularly to organization and participation in joint activities (conferences, seminars, workshops, round tables), exchange of ideas and papers, building of research networks.         

Through its participation in the virtual institute our university expects to enhance its expert lecturing and research practice in the field of trade, investments and development. UNWE is interested in establishing new contacts and long-term cooperation with the Virtual Institute network members in order of sharing curricula information, exchanging staff as well as undertaking joint research projects.

Spring Students Scientific Session of UNWE

I am proud to see my younger colleagues – thinking creative persons – at this hall. Today`s event is a good confirmation of the widely commented relations between the education and the business, outlined at the opening of the Spring Students Scientific Session the Rector of the university Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev. He pointed out that lecturers in the Forum were a personification of the real business – Petya Dimitrova, Chief Executive Director and Chairman of the Management Board of Postbank, alumnus of UNWE and Nikolai Valkanov, Chairman of the Management Board of Minstroy Holding, D.Sc. in Technical Sciences.

Prof. Stattev reminded that recently for the second time our university had obtained the highest accredited assessment (9, 65) for the next six year period from the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation. The Rector expressed his confidence in the success of the Students Forum which could be watched on a video record and the reports from it would be published in a special collection.        

By today`s Session we express our desire to acquire knowledge and to implement a close relation between the university and the business, said at the opening of the session Antoan Shotarov, Chairman of the Students Council. “Our lecturers will present us how things happen, how the successful people manage and how to get into the real business.”

In her presentation to students Petya Dimitrova, distinguished by the special award Banker of the Year 2012 commented the challenges facing the bank sector in Bulgaria, spoke about the rules which had always helped her to manage the sixth by the assets amount banking institution in Bulgaria. “For me the education is №1 and I assert it from my personal experience. I am deeply convinced in the thought that the chance favours the prepared mind”, outlined Petya Dimitrova. She defined the most important condition for the bank system - stability which could not exist without the trust of people and determined the credit financial institutions from the banks, presented the bank system in our country (31 banks, 82 milliard BGN assets, 26% of them – possession of banks having Bulgarians owners), examined all that had happened in the bank sphere over the last decade. She also disproved three myths – about the credit interests, reflux from credits because of the high interest rates and lack of competitiveness between the banks in Bulgaria. “The banks are inseparable part of the business but the banks follow the economy and not vice versa”, outlined Petya Dimitrova.

“120 million are invested in the output, 800 workplaces are restored, other 100 workplaces are opened, output has increased by 30%-40% for one year, salaries are raised by 30%-40%, listed the reasons for the award Mr. Economy 2012 its holder Nikolai Valkanov. He presented to students his business as an owner of Minstroy Holding, spoke about the ore output enterprise Gorubso-Madan, the large companies and the small business in our country, the actual state of the national economy. “You are the most important unit from Bulgarian industry”, said the lecturer to young people and undertook to provide scholarships and internships at his company for students from the UNWE.

The Students Scientific Session continued working in four panels – Economy and Finance, Accountancy and Control/ Political Sciences/Public Communications and Information Sciences/ Law. Reports on the impact of economic crisis on real estate sales, electronic invoicing, incomes from property taxes, future of the European Union, media and freedom of the speech in Bulgaria, the interim government, etc. were presented by students from different specialities at the university.

Memorandum for Cooperation between The UNWE and The Ministry of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications

Provision of career development and professional realization of students, preparation of experts, organization of trainings, support of the scientific development of lecturers from the UNWE and officials from the Ministry of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications is foreseen in the Memorandum for Cooperation signed by the Rector Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev and the interim Minister Kristian Krastev.

In the Memorandum is also pointed out that there will be held joint conferences, seminars, competition of common interest, joint application on projects/programmes in the fields of interest for both parties, etc.

The Minister Kristian Krastev met with students and lecturers at the Ceremonial Hall. Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Hristo Parvanov, Dean of the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty and presenter of the meeting outlined that the interim Minister had different, non-standard way of communication and was closer to students by his age and conception. He is an alumnus of UNWE having Bachelor`s degree on Economics of Industry and Master`s degree on International Economic Relations.

The Minister of Transport carried out a peculiar test among the attended at the hall fourth year undergraduates as he provoked them by questions related to their professional motivation, political events in the country, opportunities for successful realization in Bulgaria, challenges to the transport sector.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Terezova, lecturer from the Economics of Trade Department was elected by the Ministers Council Decision /March, 21st, 2013/ for a member of the National Council on Prices and Reimbursement of Medical Products.

Assoc. Prof. Terezova is a Scientific Secretary of the Department and leads lecturing courses on Planning and Analysis of Trade Activity, Application of Mathematical Methods, etc.

“Welcome, future colleagues” were the greeting words of Prof. Dr. Ognyan Simeonov, First Vice-Rector of the university to the alumni of the National Trade and Banking School who visited the UNWE. School-leavers from the eight classes of the high school met with Prof. Simeonov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stoyan Alexandrov, Head of the Finance Department at the Large Conference Hall. Recently between the UNWE and the National Trade and Banking School was signed an Agreement foreseeing also organizing of joint visits and events for professional orientation and preparation of prospective students.

The Head of the Finance Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stoyan Alexandrov introduced to pupils the specifics of the university and outlined that it had been № 1 among the universities in the country as it had been given the highest assessment from the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation for the second 6 years period. I`m sure that most of you will prefer the UNWE because your high school profile also assume it, said Assoc. Prof. Alexandrov. He presented to the 12th grade pupils the Departments and specialities of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty, opportunities for a choice in Bachelor`s and Master`s degree, chances for professional realization as well as in Bulgaria as also in the European Union. “There is no area of economy where financiers are not necessary”, emphasized Assoc. Prof. Alexandrov. He formulated the triunity “goals, ambitions and will” as a key to the success of young people. Assoc. Prof. Alexandrov announced the National Insurance Institute data according to which the level of unemployment among graduates from the Finance and Accountancy Faculty was below 2% and the average salary – 1200 BGN.

Academic Lections of Three Lecturers from The Finance and Accountancy Faculty

Academic lections of three lecturers who had acquired academic position of Professor and Associate Professor were organized by the Finance and Accountancy Faculty. The academic speech is a tradition for the Faculty, for our colleagues who create something really valuable as well as to the science as also to the practice, pointed out at the opening of the event the Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Snezhana Basheva. She greeted the three lecturers also for their contribution to the Faculty strengthening and growth.

The Finance and Accountancy Faculty has very good career growth, prosperity and traditions, outlined Prof. Pavlova and greeted both new professors and associate professor who “had covered the entire range of finances”.

The Challenges to the Implementation of Modern Methods of the Investment Projects Assessing was the topic of the academic speech by Prof. Margarita Alexandrova. In it she determined three groups of challenges resulting from the investment variety in the real assets, financial economic crisis and specifics for the countries having newly arisen capital markets.

Academic lection on the Taxation of Personal Income – Problems and Perspectives was read by Prof. Dr. Rumen Brusarski. About the Imbalances, Risks and the Global Crisis spoke in his academic speech Assoc. Prof. Dr. Petar Chobanov.

Prof. Yulian Vuchkov Is Awarded by The Title Honorary Professor on Theory of Artistic Culture

At an official ceremony at the Center for Intellectual Property Prof. Yulian Vuchkov was awarded for his academic contribution by the title Honorary Professor on Theory of Artistic Culture. The distinction was conferred on him on a suggestion of the Intellectual Property Department and Decision of the Rectors Council at the UNWE. At the event attended the Rector Prof. Statty Stattev, the Honorary Rector and Head of the Intellectual Property Department Prof. Borislav Borisov, the Vice-Rectors, lecturers, students, lots of guests and among them were the eminent cardiologist Prof. Mladen Grigorov and the famous producer Prof. Lyudmil Staykov.

He outlined that Prof. Vuchkov was an author of the first textbook for students in the discipline Theory of Artistic Culture and expressed thankfulness for his 10 years of lecturing activity at the university. The Rector examined the author`s contribution, valorous civil position, his uncompromising exactingness, brilliant erudition and fight for purity of Bulgarian language which the Rector determined as an emanation of the research activity and work, vital and professional credo of Prof. Vuchkov and peculiar textbook on intelligence and human knowledge. Prof. Stattev also pointed out that the new Honorary Professor was a follower of the valuables and mission of the founder and first Rector of our university Prof. Stephan Bobchev whom would be celebrated the 160th Anniversary in 2013.

“Your honouring with the title Honorary Professor is our recognition for you as an authoritative theatrical, literary and television theorist, essayist, historian, founder, journalist and publicist”, outlined Prof. Stattev and wished Prof. Vuchkov health and scientific longevity.

Prof. Stattev bestowed to Prof. Yulian Vuchkov Honorary plaque signed by him and by the Honorary Rector Prof. Dr. Borislav Borisov.

The Honorary Rector bestowed a special Honorary diploma to Prof. Vuchkov and outlined some of the motives for honouring him with the distinction. Prof. Borisov pointed out that the Honorary Professor had been a regular lecturer at the Intellectual Property Department, initiator of the discipline Theory of Artistic Culture and his book of the same name was exclusive in its structure, content and speech and it had been studied so far. The issues in the book Theory of Artistic Culture (2000) had been further developed in his book Art Management (2002).

Prof. Borisov also determined the author as “exacting, one of the few people who understand the meaning of the words”, a man with “a rich speech”, good friend and colleague. Let God give us more professors of such kind in our academic life, wished Prof. Borisov.

The Honorary Rector is giving Honorary Diploma to Prof. Vuchkov.

The honoured with an academic title, Honorary plaque and diploma Prof. Yulian Vuchkov expressed his thankfulness for the high distinction and outlined he was especially happy of that recognition which he would bear with proud. He pointed out that he was an author of more than 27 books and his lecturing activity at that largest Bulgarian university had been an important page in his life. He said his work at the UNWE was inspired him to write the books Theory of Artistic Culture and Art Management.

Business in Action – Three Days Forum

“Meet the Faces of Business” was the motto of the three days Forum entitled Business in Action. It was opened at the university under the patronage of the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev and organized by AIESEC Bulgaria. At the event attended one of the greatest names in the Bulgarian and world business circles. In the seventh consecutive initiative Business in Action more than 250 students from the UNWE and other universities has the opportunity to participate in various trainings and competitions requiring business cases solution.

The process of accumulation which AIESEC provides as an opportunity is especially important and worth, outlined at the opening of the event at the Maxima Aula Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Valentin Kisimov, Vice-Rector of the university. You are not only Bulgarian citizens but also citizens of the world and the largest international student organization assists it, said to the youth audience Prof. Kisimov. He also pointed out that the new generation had a wide field for expression by the opportunities of career growth and it should be best used.

The project Business in Action is mainly oriented to students in their third and fourth year of education. The objective is to be introduced to employers the people closest to the profile of the needed trainee and employees, pointed out Teofil Shikov, President of AIESEC Bulgaria. Especially useful is the vision which students acquire about the work at the company. That`s why the event is based on the business cases which companies commit. Each company chooses an area of its activity and determines an issue or a task needed to be solved. The company creates a case which orients quite clearly to the profile of the needed employees.

During the first day of the event speakers presented some different points of view on the issues interesting for students and the trainings should assist the participants working effectively on cases which had to be solved by them in the next two days. The trainings were led by former members of AISEC Bulgaria – representatives of various spheres of business.

In the Forum everyone could know more about the large companies operating at the Bulgarian market. Among the organizations assisting Business in Action were the PWC, Ernst&Young, FiBank, VIVACOM, GLOBUL, Kaven Orbico, MM Solutions and Unicef. On the second day (Saturday) was organized an exhibition where companies could present their opportunities and the students received expert answers and opinions on the issues they were interested in. In the exhibition took part also the companies ACCA, Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria, Adecco.

Student Girl from Speciality Business Administration Became A Mayor for A Day

Desislava Karadzhova, fourth year undergraduate in speciality Business Administration participated in the initiative Manager for a Day implemented by the Junior Achievement Bulgaria Foundation. The student girl managed the Municipality of Sofia together with the Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova on March 28th, 2013.

Desislava opened the session of the Sofia Municipality Council presenting her vision of candidature of Sofia for European capital of culture in 2019. For the purpose she was worked out a project entitled Know Sofia to Love It and oriented to the young people from Sofia and guests of the capital. In the framework of the initiative Desi Karadzhova participated together with Yordanka Fandakova also in the ceremony on giving the award Icarus as part of the Theatre Day celebrations.

The student girl considers the initiative Manager for a Day as one more motive for young people in Bulgaria to make more efforts in their education and work to achieve the success of managers they work with jointly on this day,

Yordanka Fandakova revealed her wonderful impressions from Desi`s work as a “Mayor for a Day” and declared she had obtained some useful ideas and suggestions from the student girl. In the initiative Manager for a Day took part 10 more students from the UNWE who acquainted with the experience of being managers in the public administration and private business.

Senior lecturer Maria Ananieva, Coordinator of the French Language Sector to the Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics Department and Chairwoman of the Commission on the Implementation of the National Olympiad on French Language greeted the participants at the opening of the current Olympiad which was held at the Exarch Yosif High School for foreign languages teaching in Lovech.

Senior lecturer Ananieva outlined that the Olympiad had turned not only in a tradition but also in a holiday for the young French language admirers who were part of the large family of French language admirers in our country.  This year should be celebrated the 20th Anniversary from the adoption of Bulgaria in the French Language Admirers International Organization. Maria Ananieva thanked the hosts for the immaculate organization of the event as well as the teachers from 16 towns who had prepared with a lot of love and efforts the pupils ranked for the national level of the Olympiad. She greeted the best alumni from the French Language High Schools and wished them success and unforgettable moments in the town of lilac – Lovech.

Three students from the UNWE became “Managers for a Day” at the UniCredit Bulbank. Angel Petrov, first year undergraduate in speciality Finance, Accountancy and Control, Gabriela Asenova, third year undergraduate in speciality Administration and Management and Simona Dimitrova, third year undergraduate in speciality Finance were met at the bank by the Chief Executive Director Levon Hampartzoumian and the Chief Operative Director Andrea Kazini.

The three students experienced their workday at the UniCredit Bulbank within the frameworks of the annual initiative “Manager for a Day” organized by the Junior Achievements Bulgaria Foundation. About the demand of competent professionals, new highly educated, intelligent young people having a sense of innovations spoke Levon Hampartzoumian who told the students about the work at the bank. He urged them to never stop learning but to continue improving themselves even after their graduation. “Good luck in the world of business”, wished the young managers also Andrea Kazini.

During their workday as managers the three undergraduates acquainted with the work at the Corporate Banking Directorate, Financial Markets Directorate, Cards Directorate, Human Resources Directorate and Public Relations and Communications Directorate.

Borislav Stefanov, Executive Director of the Invest Bulgaria Agency read a lecture to students from the Finance and Accountancy Faculty. The meeting at the Large Conference Hall of the university was opened by Prof. Dr. Snezhana Basheva, Dean of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty, organizer of the event.

In a short report the lecturer presented the Agency managed by him and its main objective to assist the local and foreign investors at all stages of realization of their projects. He examined the mechanism to attract potential investors from all over the world, their service during the investment study, the information and administrative assistance in procedure for registrations and licenses from other state bodies, the post-investment service, etc.

Borislav Stefanov emphasized also on the last Agency projects as he outlined the sectors to which investors during the past year had shown the highest interest – in the field of automobile industry and business processes export (the so called business process outsourcing). In the sphere of outsourcing the new large replenishment for 2013 has been the Coca-Cola Enterprise, said the lecturer. As well as the Coca-Cola Hellenic had serviced all the company markets in West Europe as also the Coca-Cola Enterprise had been chosen Sofia as a place for establishment of inter-company shared services center where to be implemented the service of accounting and financial activities of company offices in West Europe.

In response of students questions Borislav Stefanov also talked about issues concerning the work of the Invest Bulgaria Agency with the large and small companies, the marketing at state level, types of foreign investment, etc.
