The Institute of Internal Auditors in Bulgaria (IIA) donated to the UNWE Library three books: International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), CIA Exam Practice Questions – Certified Internal Auditor as well as Internal Auditing: Assurance & Advisory Services (in the picture below). The books are published by the Global Institute of Internal Auditors and its Chairman will visit UNWE in April.

At the ceremony attended Prof. Dr. Ognyan Simeonov, Head of the Financial Control Department, Prof. Dr. Snezhana Basheva, Dean of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty and Head of the Accountancy and Analysis Department, Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Mihail Dinev, Rector of UNWE from 1989 to 1990 and longstanding Head of the Financial Control Department, Denislav Sokolov, member of the Management Board of IIA and Director of the Internal Audit Directorate at the State Fund Agriculture (SFA) and Tsvetelina Staneva, Administrative Director of IIA (in the picture below from the left to the right).

Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Mihail Dinev pointed out the increasing role of internal audit in the public and private sector. He emphasized on the opportunities for students to find realization as internal auditors.

The partnership with universities is our objective because the students are the future internal auditors, said Tsvetelina Staneva. She presented the advantages of the profession as well as the role of IIA for its promotion and development.

The most important qualities for an internal auditor are the curiosity and the permanent striving for self-education, outlined Denislav Sokolov. He presented the opportunities to obtain the national certificate Internal Auditor in the Public Sector and the international certificate Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
