Three students from the UNWE won the Essay Competition initiated as a result of the partnership relations between the UNWE and the international company Sutherland Global Services. In the Competition took part 80 students from the university and the topics for their essays were: How Can I Make Our Society Better? or Which is My Best Achievement?.
The prizes to the winners were awarded by the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev and the Executive Director of the company Dimitar Galabov, graduate of UNWE. The winners were: Hristina Demireva, fourth year student, International Relations, Ivo Todorov, first year student, subfield of Economics, Society and Human Resources and Nikolay Ivanov, fourth year student, International Economic Relations.

At the awarding ceremony attended also Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, Dean of the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty, Head of the National and Regional Security Department and Coordinator for the project of cooperation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Terezova, Vice Dean in Academic Activity of the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty and Scientific Secretary of the Economics of Trade Department, Chief Assist. We have an opportunity to implement more serious events as public lectures and presentations and to provide stronger presence of Sutherland Global Services in the educational process, said Prof. Stattev. The Rector outlined that the scholarship programme negotiated between both institutions had already start working so it should be popularized. He also pointed out that the essays would give to winners the opportunity to apply also for European scholarships for special achievements.
Dimitar Galabov expressed his thankfulness to the Rector and to Prof. Dimitrov for the successful cooperation. “We set up the ground but we should build up from now on. We are exclusively impressed of the flexibility of our partnership, discussion of ideas and good realization, emphasized the Director. He commented also the huge student interest in the scholarship programme of the company. He shared his expectations for the implementation of more initiatives enhancing the level of foreign languages skills like the First Sutherland Global Services Academy. It will be the necessary addition to the academic education, pointed out Galabov.
Prof. Dimitrov shared that lots of working meetings, round table conferences and public lectures had been held so far and the organization of more joint events had been forthcoming.
