Roundtable Conference on the Issues of Corporate Governance, Sustainable Development and Disclosure of Non-Financial Information was held at the university. The event was focused on the presentation and research of those issues by the research team of the International Economic Relations and Business Department and the Corporate Governance Forum.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Stoychev, Head of the International Economic Relations and Business Department and Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies structured in a presentation the essence of the corporate governance, actual issues of sustainable development, formation of new ideas and plans after the crisis process, etc. He made a comparative analysis of the concept about the corporate social responsibility and reviewed the “shared benefit” specifying the GRI model. Assoc. Prof. Stoychev presented also some conclusions derived by the research of new tendencies in the conditions of increasing attention to the issues of sustainable development.

Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Bistra Boeva, Director of the Institute of Economics and Policies commented on the Disclosure of Non-Financial Information: from Voluntarily to Compulsory Implementation of the Process. She examined the Global Reportive Initiative, requirements coming out of the Global Compact, ISO Standards, the Directive on Disclosure of Non-Financial and Diversity Information which contains measurements of the European Commission Action Plan for Company Law and Corporate Governance.
