The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov signed a Cooperation Agreement with Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan. The delegation from Uzbekistan was led by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Shuhrat Amonovich who was accompanied by Javlonbek Madatov, Head of the Department for Organizing International Cooperation, and Jasurbek Alisherovich, Head of the Department of Organization of the Credit System of Education.

On behalf of UNWE in the meeting took part Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yanko Hristozov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Dr. Milen Markov, Director of International Affairs Directorate, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asya Pandzhernova and Chief Assist. Dr. Svetoslav Kaleychev, lecturers at the Economics of Tourism Department.

During the meeting were discussed the possibilities for launching a dual Bachelor's degree programme in the field of tourism which will be aimed at students from Uzbekistan, who, in addition to studying at the UNWE, will also get opportunities for practical internships in enterprises of the tourism sector. The negotiations are at an advanced stage and the final clauses of the contract are yet to be signed. The delegation shared excellent impressions of the interesting and up-to-date programmes that the UNWE provides for its students as well as the modern and impressive facilities.

The Rector of UNWE was awarded as a gesture of respect a special gift - a national costume of Uzbekistan. The three-day visit of the delegation from Uzbekistan includes a rich additional programme - meetings with lecturers and students of UNWE, a tour of the campus, visits to cultural events.
