The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov at a Working Visit to China

The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov visited China at the invitation of Beijing Technology and Business University /BTBU/ on 19 and 20 October 2024. He was accompanied by the Vice-Rector for International Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yanko Hristozov. Within the framework of the visit a Memorandum of Cooperation and a Student Exchange Agreement were signed between the UNWE and BTBU. The Rector and the Vice Rector also took part in the Global Digital Business Education Conference.

During the first day of the visit a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Rectors of UNWE and BTBU was officially signed. During the meeting that followed the signing of the official documents, the two universities were introduced and various partnership opportunities were discussed. The BTBU was represented by Guo Jianhua, President of BTBU, Liu Yannan - Director of Academic Affairs, He Dongmeng - Director of BTBU International Office as well as some of the academic leadership. The hosts showed their campus facilities and demonstrated the most advanced and up-to-date digital solutions in students' learning processes.

The representatives of UNWE took part in the two-day Conference on the Global Digital Business Education which included a visit to one of the largest and fastest growing companies in the field of digital services - YonYou where models for digital management of enterprises and organizations in the field of education, procurement, finance, production were presented.

During the second day of the Conference (20 October) the UNWE became a co-founder of the Global Business Digital Education Association. A number of meetings were held with representatives from the Beijing Business Technology University, Ministry of Education of China, Beijing Municipal Government, University of Beijing and over 10 other Chinese universities who also participated in the event. A meeting was also held with the Vice President of Hebei University of Economics and Business /HUEB/, and as a result the launch of two dual Bachelor's degree programmes was planned.


Beijing Technology and Business University /BTBU/, established in 1950, is a key state-run university with comprehensive disciplines covering Arts, Sciences, Engineering, Law, Economics, History, Philosophy and Management. The University lays an equal emphasis on teaching and scientific and technological research.

In 2007 BTBU accepted the teaching quality evaluation from the Ministry of Education and was awarded the rank Excellence.

The University has 9 schools, 1 department (Research Institute) and 1 education center, within which 43 Bachelor`s degree specialities, 35 postgraduate specializations, 2 Master`s degree programmes and several joint PhD programmes are offered.

BTBU has about 12 000 fulltime undergraduates, 5700 part time students, 1300 postgraduates and PhD students.
