Prof. Alexandrova, does the UNWE offer new specialties to prospective students in the academic year 2024 /2025?
For a consecutive year the UNWE provides new, modern and attractive specialties in line with the requirements of the labour market and the interests of prospective students. For admission in the new academic year 2024 / 2025 at the UNWE the students are offered new Bachelor's degree programmes - European Integration and Diplomacy which will be studied in full-time form. Students will also be able to study the specialities Business Administration, Public Administration and Regional Development in their preferred distance learning form of education. The new speciality Health and Business Tourism and Economics /with foreign languages/ will be studied in distance form of education. For the first time the speciality Business Administration taught in English is also offered in English.
After a careful analysis of the educational market theUNWE will provide also new Master's degree programmes for the academic year 2024 / 2025, namely Economics and Management, Social Change and Artificial Intelligence, Finance and Real Estate Investment, Big Data and Analytics, Artificial Intelligence in the Economy. These specialities directly correspond to the professions of the future and to the opportunities for high professional realization. A good practice in initiating new specialities is the relationship with professional, branch and trade union organizations. Such are the joint programmes Accreditation and Compliance Assessment jointly with the Bulgarian Accreditation Service Executive Agency and Trade Unionism and Trade Union Policies jointly with the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria.
In the new academic year all students of Economics specialities have the opportunity to acquire an additional qualification in the specialty Teacher of Economics in a full-time form of study lasting 3 semesters. At the end of their studies, in addition to a Diploma of higher education for Bachelor's Degree the successful graduates will receive a certificate of professional qualification which will help them find professional realization in the secondary education system.
The guiding rule for the opening of new specialties at the UNWE is the specific study and feedback from employers and industry organizations on the demand for specialists with modern preparation.
What are the application options?
The UNWE provides modern education in the field of social, economic and legal sciences in nearly 60 Bachelor`s and over 90 Master`s degree programmes based on the use of modern teaching methods and digital applications. Prospective students are provided with a range of application options tailored to the specific nature and profile of their secondary education and ensuring objective assessment of their knowledge and achievements.
The UNWE is one of the universities that have kept the entrance exams as the main admission option. Each prospective student may take one or more admission examinations organized in the form of a computer-based test for the Unified Entrance Examination /UEE/ or a preliminary examination in the format of State Matriculation Examination /SME/ in Bulgarian Language and Literature and Geography and Economics. It is important to note that the highest score from the prospective students examination/s/ taken at UNWE or State Matriculation Examination of the secondary education diploma is taken to form the competition score for the ranking. You can apply for all specialties at the UNWE with the grade from the State Matriculation Examination.
For 10 years the UNWE has been conducting training in English, currently in eight specialties, one of which is in distance learning. These courses require a B2 level language certificate or a language proficiency exam passed at the UNWE. For another four specialities a language proficiency is required and the applicants can present a valid certificate of proficiency in any of the five languages - English, German, French, Spanish and Russian.
What lies ahead in theprospective students campaign 2024 / 2025?
The forthcoming dates for the preliminary examinations in the format of State Matriculation Examination in Bulgarian Language and Literature will be held at the UNWE on 8 June and 23 June 2024. Students who are notpleased with their matriculation examination results will have the opportunity to take these exams and in addition to test their knowledge, the graduating high school pupils will have the chance to be admitted to the largest and most prestigious economic university in the country and in Southeast Europe.
The regular application session will be held in the period 2 -5 July 2024 and the application documents will be accepted from 10 to 28 June 2024 at the UNWE Center for Documents Reception from 10 to 30 June 2024 online through the UNWE Web Admission platform.
The chances of prospective students to get into their desired speciality are significantly increased by taking more entrance exams - both preliminary and during the regular application session. It is important to emphasize that the highest grade obtained in any of the examinations is taken to form the ranking score.
For admission tо the UNWE it is used Unified Information System which in addition to online submission of documents, provides automatic access to useful application information, arranging the specialities in the order desired by the applicant, receiving information and electronic reminders of all important deadlines and dates for prospective students as well as ranking results. To disclose up-to-date information the UNWE uses a robot that sends a notification to all prospective students at the same time. This is combined with a permanent Call Center and the connection to it allows the prospective students to get up-to-date answers to their questions and make an informed choice.
