On 23 April – the World Book and Copyright Day - the ceremony Knight of the Book was held to award individuals, organizations and institutions with outstanding contribution in the field of books and reading, organized by the Bulgarian Book Association.
In the current year the ceremony was turned into a celebration of the Bulgarian book community and prizes in four categories were awarded – Librarian / Library, Teacher / School, Journalist / Media and Public Citizen.

The UNWE Library was awarded the Knight of the Book for 2023 /gold badge and diploma/ in the category Library / Librarian for its outstanding contribution in supporting the educational process and promoting the reading. The prize was bestowed by Miroslav Borshosh, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture, Science and Cultural Diversity in Sofia Municipal Council.

Knight of the Book is an award given to journalists and other prominent individuals who have contributed to book publishing and the promotion of books in Bulgaria. The award is conferred by the Bulgarian Book Association on 23 April – the World Book and Copyright Day under the auspices of UNESCO.
