A scientific symposium dedicated to the 75th jubilee anniversary of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Venelina Trifonova was organized by the Economics Department of UNWE. Assoc. Prof. Trifonova is one of the doyens of the Department, a longstanding lecturer and scientist.

The Head of the Economics Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Beev opened the Scientific Forum and outlined: "By this event we continue the tradition of paying due respect and honour to the people who have left an indelible mark and have given their lives for the development of different UNWE Departments and Faculties as well as of the University".

The Rector greeted the Economics Department and the General Economics Faculty for the initiative and emphasized: "These moments are part of the spirit of UNWE which makes the strength. I would like to express my gratitude to Prof. Trifonova for her dedicated work and contribution to the development of economic science and strengthening the good reputation of UNWE. She is one of the personalities whose life and professional destiny is related to the UNWE forever as its graduate and lecturer, who has given knowledge to several generations of students and supported dozens of young colleagues in their academic growth. Over the years Assoc. Prof. Dr. Venelina Trifonova has deservedly earned the respect of the academic community as a lecturer and scholar with an authoritative name in the field of economic theory, macroeconomics, economic policy and monetary economics. Our university continues to develop successfully due to people like Assoc. Prof. Trifonova".

Prof. Dr. Silvia Trifonova, Vice-Dean for Quality and International Cooperation of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty, daughter of Assoc. Prof. Trifonova, was also at the solemn celebration.
The celebration was also attended by Deans, Heads of Departments, representatives of various organizations, lecturers, students, colleagues, and relatives of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Venelina Trifonova.
Greetings to Assoc. Trifonova were addressed by Prof. Dr. Rumen Brusarsky, Dean of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Atanasov, President of the National Statistical Institute /NSI/ and lecturer at the UNWE, Ilian Chabukliisky, Chairman of the Student Council at UNWE.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Venelina Trifonova expressed her gratitude to the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and to all the attendees for the respect and emphasized: "If I have to summarize my years at the UNWE it turns out that I have been part of this University for 47 years and if I use the term "time shelter" of the famous writer Georgy Gospodinov, my professional time shelter is called the University of National and World Economy. We have to look philosophically at the question where we have experienced our most comfortable moments, where was our shelter in general, so I can say that the UNWE is my University.

During the event Dr. Svilen Kolev, Vice President of the NSI, a graduate and Doctoral student from the UNWE, presented the collective monograph Status and Impact of Unconventional Monetary Policy of Leading Central Banks around the World for Developed and Developing Countries with an Emphasis on Bulgaria and emphasized on the significant role of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Venelina Trifonova in writing the scientific work.
