Annual University Scientific Session

The academic research activity of the university was summarized in details by the traditional Annual University Scientific Session which gathered the scientists at the Large Conference Hall.

The total number of scientific research project is 82, outlined the results Prof. Dr. Valentin Goev, Vice Rector on Scientific Research Activity of the university. He differentiated the scientific product in details – 58 university projects, 9 international ones funded by the European programmes, 9 projects on Operational Programme Human Resources Development and 6 ones financed by the Scientific Researches Fund of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Prof. Goev emphasized on the importance of the Scientific Session and pointed out that the university scientists have all the reasons of being contented with their achievements. The Vice Rector specified in details also the issues related to the reduced target subsidy for university scientific researches which had been three times lower than the allocated in 2009 over 1 200 000 BGN. An orientation mostly to the international projects and European programmes was pointed out as an alternative for a successful implementation of the research objectives by Prof. Goev.

Success for the UNWE is the implementation of 6 projects on the European Union Framework Programmes. Priority fields for the university scientific research activity approved by the Academic Council for a second consecutive year are the studies on validation of leadership positions of our university among the business universities in Europe,  as well as the economic, political and social researches supporting the state and business in Bulgaria.

The importance of the Scientific Session was also outlined by Prof. Dr. Veselka Pavlova, Vice Rector on Education in EQD of Master and Distance Learning. She presented also some results of the projects managed by her and related to the distance form of learning, the preparation of 60 online textbooks and their pilot usage in four Master`s degree programmes and two Bachelor`s degree ones since February, 2014.  

There is a huge spectrum of guidelines and research solutions, pointed out Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Valentin Kisimov, Vice Rector on Electronic Organization. He distinguished two fields in the university activity – academic and scientific one as he outlined that the research results should not measure in monetary terms but in dignity and contentment.

At the Annual Session were presented the results of 40 projects implemented during the one year period. In the first session were included 14 “external” projects completed by UNWE – international and national as well as some collective university elaborations on more common issues. The second session was focused on 15 presentations of collective university elaborations oriented to the state and business in our country. The third session included 11 projects – 6 collective ones of applied nature and 5 individual ones served as the basis for theses defence.

More of the implemented scientific elaborations have the nature of analytical reports containing conclusions and references for improvement of the normative documentation, organizational behavior and managerial solutions. Results of applied nature are achieved: new and improved methods for researches and business, methodical instructions for application of modern approaches and methods for management of Bulgarian economy, web-based online systems, applied models, etc.
